Song Of The Day: DEATH GRIPS, “I’ve Seen Footage.”

Posted: April 23, 2012 in Music

This song, this music, it isn’t for everybody.  It’s discordant, and loud, and kind of obnoxious, and I love that about it.  It’ll probably annoy all the right kinds of people.  Death Grips is an experimental hip-hop outfit out of California, and that, and this song, are about all I know about them so far.  This song, “I’ve Seen Footage”, obviously doesn’t exist if Public Image Ltd. never had, but that’s okay.  Attack The Block wouldn’t have happened without the influence of John Carpenter and Walter Hill, and you know how much I loved that thing.   A little influence from the right sources can sometimes yield its own particular frenzied greatness.

Listen and agree:

P.S.  Because I brought it up, and because it’s great, here’s Johnny Rotten, Afrika Bambaataa, and Ronald Reagan with “World Destruction.”
