Words, Words, Words.

 

 

Why is there a picture of Kate Mara up on my webpage today?  Two reasons:

1)  Saw Iron Man 2 last night, and while she only appears in one scene, she made quite the impression.

2) As William Randolph Hearst once said, “Pretty girls sell papers.”  He didn’t actually say that, but whatever it takes to get people to read my good works…

So let Kate Mara be the siren call that draws your ship to this shore, my friends, and let the torrent of pleasingly-arranged words keep you here.  There’s plenty more on the way.

MOVIES & TV

• I liked Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans, even if typing and retyping the title is killing me.

• I also liked The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, but I also hate typing that one.

• Apparently the Thor movie is still happening.

• How an original script becomes a superstar summer film.

• The more The Room sucks, the more people seem to love it.

• Some words about Avatar Thursday, with another mention of my upcoming film, CANCER DOG.

• My wanna-see list for the Tribeca Film Festival.

• I watched a Sunday-night Hallmark TV-movie and it was surprisingly good.

• The Piranha 3-D trailer makes angry fish look like fun.

• The Machete trailer makes angry day laborers look like fun.

• A terrific documentary, Winnebago Man, is coming to a theater near you.  Hope you like the word “fuck”!  

 

• Warwick Davis got his own TV show!  How could I ever doubt the power of prayer?

• Speaking of which, Leprechaun made the list of the top 9,133 movies of the 20^th century.

• Sarah Silverman’s new book is funny.

• Baba Booey!  Baba Booey!  Baba Booey!

COMICS

• Free Comic Book Day happened.  (I wasn’t there.)

• If I could draw like Jaime Hernandez, I wouldn’t have any problems.
